What?

PaperCut is a versatile print management tool that helps users select printers.

How?

When in an office or working remotely, PaperCut will connect to the local printer.

Why?

Eliminates the need to use the old search function.

Accessing PaperCut

  1. Locate the green PaperCut icon in the lower right-hand corner of Windows.(the same place the VPN is located)

Viewing Printers

  1. After locating the green PaperCut icon, right-click on it.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select "View my printers".
  3. The PaperCut application will then appear, displaying the printer(s) currently installed on the computer in use.

Adding Printers

  1. To add a new printer, select “Add printers” from the left side menu panel.
  2. A list of all the Department of Economic Security (DES) printers will appear.
  3. To find a printer, go to the upper right corner and select the "search printer, location" option. Search for a printer by printer name or location.
  4. After identifying the printer, click on the green "install" button.

Adding Centralized Mailroom Imaging (CMI) Printer

  1. The CMI printer name is:
  2. DCSSP91060-IJP8
  3. After installing the printer, it can be found under"My Printers" in PaperCut.

Print Example

  1. After installing the CMI printer in "My Printers," it will appear as a printing option when printing a document.

Central Print vs. Local Print

  1. Central Print:
  2. Select this option to send the document to the vendor for printing.
  3. Local Print:
  4. Select this option to print to a selected printer (e.g., CMI, LOCAL OFFICE, or Portable Document Format (PDF)).

Selecting Print Settings

  1. After generating the document, choose the appropriate printer or select the option to save as a PDF.

Printing Format

  1. All prints must be single sided.
  2. Note: Ensure the “Print on both sides” is NOT selected.
